The Tennessee Business Aviation Association (TnBAA) is committed to fostering the growth and development of
future professionals in business aviation. We are proud to offer scholarships to support and encourage students who
are either residents of Tennessee or enrolled in a Tennessee-based college, university, or Part 141 flight school.
These scholarships are intended to help recipients further their educational aspirations and pursue careers within
business aviation.
Award Amount (2025): (2) two scholarships of $3,500 each
Eligibility Criteria
- Residency/Enrollment: Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Be a current resident of Tennessee (attending school in or out of state), OR
- Be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or Part 141 flight school located in Tennessee (residency outside Tennessee permitted, provided the applicant demonstrates a commitment to remain in Tennessee after graduation and support the growth of its business aviation industry).
- Education Level: Must hold sophomore status or above (including graduate students) at an accredited institution. Part 141 flight school students are eligible if they demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in business aviation.
- Academic Standing: Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Enrollment Status: Must be enrolled as a full-time student.
- Career Interest: Must demonstrate genuine interest in pursuing a career in business aviation through an essay, coursework, or work experience.
- Previous Awards: Past recipients are eligible but cannot win in consecutive years.
Application Requirements
- A completed Scholarship Application form.
- Proof of Tennessee residency (e.g., driver's license, voter registration, utility bills).
- Transcripts or academic records confirming GPA.
- A personal statement or essay detailing interest and aspirations in business aviation (not exceeding 500 words).Tennessee residents should describe their career goals and how this scholarship will support their path. Non-resident students enrolled in a Tennessee-based institution must also explain their commitment to remain in Tennessee after graduation and contribute to the growth of the state’s business aviation industry.
- (Optional but recommended) Letters of recommendation or reference from teachers, employers, or professionals in the business aviation field.
Benefits to Recipients
- One of two $3,500 scholarships for educational expenses.
- 12-month student membership to TnBAA.
- Invitation to attend at least one TnBAA meeting during the academic year.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by a dedicated Scholarship Selection Committee appointed by TnBAA. Two recipients
will be chosen based on academic achievements, personal statement quality, demonstrated interest in business
aviation, and potential contributions to the industry.
